Over 21 million people in the United States fit the criteria for a substance use disorder. Of those individuals, less than 10% will seek professional substance use treatment. As an Arizona rehab center, we at Pinnacle Peak Recovery in Scottsdale, AZ, we believe that percentage is far too low. Our goal is not only to increase awareness about the dangers of drugs and alcohol but also to help struggling individuals embrace a new beginning through compassionate care.
While the drug epidemic won’t go away overnight, we believe that teens and young adults can help ignite change. Together, we can stand on the frontline in the war against drug and alcohol abuse. If you’re a high school or college student with hopes for a better tomorrow, we want to hear from you.
Please write an essay telling us what you’re doing to fight or how you plan on fighting issues surrounding substance use or addiction. Examples could include your future career path (perhaps a position here at our addiction treatment center!), volunteering for a related cause, or even helping someone you love seek treatment. However you plan to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
